Nexa presented “The Tribe- The India Story” collection by the leading designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil at the Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018. The entire set-up was well made and thought of including the Music Lounge. It gave an impeccable touch to their complete theme.
The duo chose Saif Ali Khan as the showstopper, who made a grand entry on the runway in a black asymmetric closure kurta over slim pants. Their collection focused on the emerging millennials who are on a constant search to rediscover themselves. Shantanu and Nikhil’s menswear collection had hues of black, white and chrome, featuring capes and capelets. On the other hand, Women’s wear was ultra-glamorous and included draped dresses with waist coats, cropped jackets, asymmetric coat- kurtas, gowns with capelet and saris teamed with off- shouldered cholis and stretch pants. The selection of colours remained true to an earthy palette comprising warm shades, while the sharp tailoring and dramatic accents revealed the pairs’ expertise.
The collection was complemented by an interesting look created by Lakmé makeup expert Daniel Bauer. The overall experience was a treat to the eyes and I would love to know what you think about Shantanu and Nikhil’s collection.
