Experiencing the Sony Xperia XZ Premium

This is something my Instagram family would know, but I took a trip to Shimla less than 2 weeks ago, with the Sony team, for the launch of their spanking new Xperia XZ Premium smartphone. And what a delightful experience it was! I’d never been to that part of India before, so I was really looking forward to it. And we stayed at The Wildflower Hall, which is an absolutely stunning property! More on that later though, I’m sharing my experience with the phone, and the reasons why I’ve been loving it a lot in the past 10 days.

Starting off with the first impression of the phone, it’s very sleek and classic, with a Gorilla Glass 5 front and rear body (which makes it a very sturdy phone), and is also water and dust resistant. Your phone will basically survive a quick splash in the pool (I tried while I was live on Instagram!) and even heavy rain. We took it all through our river rafting experience, to get some really cool pictures and footage, and the phone made it through everything! It comes in two options, a Deepsea Black and Luminous Chrome, which is the one I have. It’s super shiny and reflective, and is just like an actual mirror! No need to carry one around in your handbag for touch-ups anymore haha!

The power button is on the right side, just above the camera switch, and comes with an inbuilt fingerprint scanner that makes it so convenient to unlock the phone without having to enter a pin, pattern or password.
Now for one of the best parts of the phone, it comes with a brilliant 5.46 inch 4K HDR display, featuring the same technology that one can find in Sony’s Bravia televisions, and is one of the only phones you’ll find in the market that boasts such a display. I also love that I can easily use the phone in landscape or portrait mode without having any inconvenience caused even if my headphones are plugged in, especially when you’re enjoying that 4K content!
The battery life is super impressive too! I charged my twice in 4 days, and had absolutely no reason to look for a plug point or power bank at any point of time. There’s also an Ultra STAMINA mode, that helps you make the battery last longer.

For me, it’s an absolute no-brainer that Sony makes some of the best cameras around. And I couldn’t wait to see the camera this beauty had to offer. And I cannot tell you how impressed I was. It comes with a 19MP rear sensor, face detection, highly impressive HDR that basically captures every little detail, electronic image stabilisation (EIS), predictive phase detection and laser autofocus. It’s also brilliant in low light situations. But one of the highlights and stand-out features of the phone is it’s outstanding Motion Eye camera feature, which is basically super slow motion (960 fps to be precise!) and helps you record some super fun, creative and dramatic content!
You can find a few images taken on the phone below, to try and show you what the camera is capable of.

All in all, this was my experience so far, and I have no complaints whatsoever. I’m very particular about the tech devices I use and share with you guys, and I’m so glad I get to share this phone with you, because it has truly amazed me.
