In my early teens, The Princess Diaries was one of the movies that created a profound impact on me. Mia’s life, outfits and jewellery as a princess in that movie were actual goals. Especially her array of gorgeous sunglasses and jewels in her closet. I remember being in utter awe and mesmerised by the shiny possibilities, and believing that this only happens in dreams (and unrealistic movies).
They say that dreams hardly turn to reality, but when I saw Swarovski’s new #BeBrilliant collection, I was immediately hit by nostalgia and felt like a Princess myself, being presented with some of the finest jewels. This has got to be one of my favourite Swarovski collections ever, hands down. February being the month of love, this collection takes it’s inspiration from romance, and is an effortlessly chic combination of Paris and Los Angeles. It’s glamorous, daring, and still beautifully delicate, and makes you want to #BeBrilliant. There are some stunning statement pieces, that are bound to get you tonnes of attention and compliments. Since the collection is so powerful and romantic and left me spoilt for choice, I knew I wanted this post to be unlike anything I’ve done before.
Of course, there’s a lot to take out of The Princess Diaries than just the style, especially the quote ‘Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgement that something is more important than fear; The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all.’ So, instead of playing safe, I decided to be a little brave myself, and donned multiple pieces to created a bold, slightly edgy look for today’s post. I love how beautifully it has all come together, right from the different hues in the jewellery, to the eye makeup, to the layering of statement pieces.
Of course, each of the Swarovski pieces I’m wearing is enough to create a statement on it’s own, perfect to team with an everyday look, or even a date night outfit, and would totally make for a lovely gift as well! I’ve finally come close to living my fantasy of feeling like absolute royalty and have made some beautiful memories with these jewels. I really hope you do too!
