Abu Dhabi Experience – Part 1

At 7 am Christmas morning last month, a very excited me, accompanied by my boyfriend Siddhanth, left for the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi. We went there with the tourism board, who very kindly invited us to experience the city and everything it has to offer. We were basically spoilt rotten!

The trip started with the Business Class experience that Etihad Airways has to offer. Right from the lounge, to the beyond comfortable seats, to the delicious food and courteous flight crew, the journey to and fro was amazing!
Siddhanth and I were unintentionally coordinated, so we had to get a picture of our travel looks together haha!
I’M WEARING – Tee – Zara; Joggers – Stradivarius; Bag – Givenchy; Shoes – Asos; Sunglasses – RayBan
ON SIDDHANTH – Jumper – Forever21; Joggers – H&M; Shoes – Zara

Dress – Kalki; Shoes – Primark; Sunglasses – RayBan

We checked into the Executive Suite at The Ritz Carlton in Abu Dhabi. It’s situated right across the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which is one of the most beautiful structures I’ve seen. Day 1 was all about R&R, and I got the best massage of my life at Espa, which is the spa at The Ritz Carlton. Post the massage, I also took a quick dip in the pool at the spa, and took in a little sauna time before getting ready for dinner. We ate a delicious Southeast Asian meal at LiJiang, which had an open kitchen, a beautiful outdoor seating with the view of the mosque, which looked beyond stunning at night! If you ever visit LiJiang, I’d definitely recommend trying their tea cocktails. They’re a unique blend of tea and alcohol and are absolutely mouth-watering.

 I’m wearing an abaya that
was given to me at the mosque, along with a Payal Singhal scarf, and RayBan sunglasses

On day 2, we headed to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the morning. Despite seeing it from afar, it’s a totally different experience up-close. The grandeur and charm of the mosque is unparalleled. We took a tour of the mosque, and were basically amazed. Every detail, from floor to ceiling, is so well thought of, and so intricate and beautiful. The entire mosque has numerous chandeliers, but the one pictured above, is the largest, which weighs 12 tonnes, made of all swarovski crystals and even has a staircase in it! How insanely cool is that?! The staircase is actually required for the person who cleans it every few months. We got a few shots at this picturesque beauty before unwillingly heading back to the hotel for lunch.

Swimsuit – Pretty Secrets; Sunglasses – RayBan

Jacket, Jeans – Zara; Boots – H&M; Bag – Givenchy

Since we had a few hours to ourselves, we sat by the pool, took a dip inside, and then got ready to head to The Galleria, which is Abu Dhabi’s one-stop luxury shopping and dining destination located at Al Maryah Island. It has some of the best luxury brands and restaurants under one roof. After taking a tour of the mall, we were also shown the future plans of expansion, and how the city and Al Maryah island will expand within the coming years. It’s so fascinating to see the amount of planning and thought that goes into developing something like this. Coming to dinner, I learnt that there is a Zuma at The Galleria, and couldn’t contain my excitement. Zuma is one of my favourite places to dine when I travel, because their ambience and food is one-of-a-kind. Unfortunately, Zuma was fully booked, so we went to Leopold’s of London for dinner, where we were spoilt by choice thanks to their vast menu, but I finally decided on some pasta and fries, and Siddhanth went for steak. Post dinner, I got in a little bit of makeup shopping at Sephora, before we headed back to the hotel.
So I’m ending part of my trip to Abu Dhabi right here. Part 2 will be up later tonight. I hope you guys enjoyed the post and images. Stay tuned for more!

My wife and i got comfortable John could complete his studies by way of the precious recommendations he discovered in your blog. It’s not at all simplistic just to happen to be releasing secrets which usually the rest could have been selling. And we also acknowledge we now have you to thank for this. Most of the explanations you’ve made, the simple web site menu, the relationships you can help to create – it is all overwhelming, and it’s letting our son in addition to us feel that the idea is entertaining, and that’s pretty serious. Thanks for everything!
