This Means War

I have been intrigued by fashion pretty much all my life, and even today, I’m amazed by how effective a tool it is when it comes to self-expression. Whether it was Coco Chanel who freed the working women from corsets and in turn other societal restrictions or Christian Dior who brought back ostentation post World War 2, fashion was and remains the most aesthetic indicator of the life and times.

The recent Women’s March inspired me to come up with something fierce for today’s post. And what’s more fierce than black? I accessorized my black on black outfit with a see-through choker with gold accents, that added a relentless vibe to the outfit. I’ve also been quite obsessed with the camouflage print off-late. And the way this print if back in trend lately, despite originating from conflict, war and struggle, just shows how everything happening around us somehow impacts fashion even today. Adding more gold to the look through the makeup, because we shouldn’t be afraid to show who we really are or wear what we want to wear, even if it may seem a little over the top.

Starting the year with positive, fierce and motivational thoughts, I’m choosing to not just be with the times, but also be unstoppable and conquer life.

Shirt – Bershka; Bralette – H&M; Jeans – Primark; Heels – Asos; Choker – bought in Romania; on my lips – L’oreal Le Gold lipstick

For that reason, if you are looking for a particular service, like a spray on tan, you may want to think about contacting your local beauty salon spa ahead of time to first make sure that they do offer spray on tans.
