As you may probably already know, my blog turned one year old on the 23rd of this month! I cannot thank you guys enough for the unconditional support! My blog is like my baby and I feel so grateful to be able to do something I love as my career.
When I started blogging last year, I used to be so nervous before I published every post. I still am occasionally, but it gets easier with time. That ‘Publish’ button tends to get me a little nervy every now and then, because I obviously want every blog post to be perfect. Proofreading each post again and again, trying to see if my content is okay, making sure the pictures are nice enough. There’s so much more to blogging than you guys see. And no matter how stressful it may be, I still enjoy every bit of it.
Writing the content for a post always stressed me out. I usually just enjoyed the styling and shooting for each post, but was never too keen on writing. But as time passed, I’ve noticed just how much I’ve evolved and grown in the past year. I actually look forward to sitting down with a cup of tea/coffee or a snack, and writing each post. I still completely love the styling and shooting bit, but I must admit, I’d never thought I would actually enjoy writing.
For my first post after my ‘blogiversary’, I wanted to do something a little special. This two toned midi skirt from The Snob Shop has been lying as part of the inventory for quite a while, but I wanted to wear it on the blog for something special before it actually went up on the website for sale. And this seemed like the perfect time. Since pink and purple are my all-time favourite colours, I undoubtedly fell for this skirt the minute I saw it! And since I had so many different ways of styling it running through my head, I decided to style it three ways for this post. I shall not bore you with more, and dive straight in to the first look!

This look was inspired by my Colour Blocking 101 post from last year. Apart from the simple black and white, I wanted one of the looks to have contrast. Hence, I brought out the colour wheel again, and paired this skirt with the same Zara dress I wore in that post. Then I wore a blue holographic necklace for a little added colour. I didn’t want to go overboard with the colour blocking, so I wore a pair of nude cuffed heels and a black bag to bring the look together.

Last month, there was a slight chance that I would be able to make it to Lakmé Fashion week this time. I was so excited, that I began to plan my outfits right then! This look was one that I wanted to wear there, but unfortunately, I couldn’t make it. Since it can be quite a task to style a skirt like this for a daytime occasion, I thought this look was an apt option to wear for an event in the day. The cropped white shirt immediately adds that casual yet stylish vibe to the look without overpowering the skirt. I wore these super gorgeous Amaara Jewelry earrings to contrast with the edgy mirrored sunglasses and add an ethnic hint to the look. If I were to choose 1 out of the 3 looks, this would probably be my favourite.
This look was probably the easiest to style. I wanted a simple option for a night out, and obviously the first thing that came to my mind was a black crop top. I love the cutout in this crop top from Cupcakes and Closet, and with black strappy heels, it made for the perfect night look. Then, I added a little edge to the outfit with an arm cuff I got from New Look on Asos recently.
This skirt and the shirt I’m wearing in Look 2 will be available on The Snob Shop in the next few days. Also, I’d love to know which look was your favourite in the comments below! Until next time lovelies! xx
