Looking over the last year, I want to experiment more often. So for my first post, I went for a look that I’d normally never have worn before. A couple of months back, I’d posted a picture on Instagram of this crop top that the lovely people from Blueprint Coleccion sent over, and I finally got a chance to style it.
Happy New Year all you lovely readers!
Before I start this post, I’d like to thank all of you for the suggestions on my New Year’s eve outfit. You’ll really did help me make a decision, and I’ll share a picture of what I wore soon on Instagram!
Crop top – Blueprint Coleccion; Joggers – Forever21 (Mumbai); Jacket – Borrowed from Mom (bought from Mango I think); Rings, Sunglasses – The Snob Shop; On my lips – Mac Velvet Teddy
The one thing I’ve always tried to do with my style is experiment. I want to constantly embrace new trends, even if I’m skeptical about them at first. If there’s something I find a little too bold for me or I’m unsure, I try to push myself and give it a shot, and more often than not, I begin to love it! Right from print on print, to super ripped jeans, to velvet dresses, and not to forget, getting my hair ombre’d. I contemplated it for so long before I finally decided to just go with it. I wasn’t entirely happy with the way it turned out in the beginning, but that’s a different story altogether.
This top reminds me of fantasies, but with a fierce vibe to it. Whenever I style a crop top, my first instinct is to pair it with a maxi skirt. But this time, I decided to play to the fierce side of it, and went with black and leather for the rest of the look. Choosing a pair of pleather joggers over leggings or pants gave the look that extra edge. I then decided to go all the way with these bold sunglasses.
This look may not be for everyone, but I think you can definitely pull off something similar on a Saturday night out by replacing the leather jacket with a blazer.
